My brother John and I vist with a supporter at one of our December events

This week our team was excited to announce another successful quarter of campaign accomplishments.  During the 4th quarteralone we attended 47 community events throughout the 6th District which includes Callaway, Cole, Miller, Moniteau, and Morgan Counties.  Our phone bank volunteers made over 7,000 calls to 6th district voters and as a result, we have a good understanding of the issues most important to central Missourians.  We continue to hear from people all over the district that voters want a fresh face in the political arena with a small business background and a commitment to family values, job creation, low taxes, and affordable health care.

In addition to attending events throughout the district and making efforts to communicate with voters, we are excited to announce that we have cleared 500 donors for the election and were able to raise over $87,000 in the 4th quarter.  That total exceeds the total 4th quarter funds raised by all our opponents combined!!  Even more humbling is the TOTAL we have raised since our kick off just 5 months ago – over $208,000.00.  The faith that people have placed in me – from all over the district – to bring a common sense approach to the Capitol is inspiring.  We have 195 days to go until the election - I am energized and ready to go the distance to bring home a victory.

Thank you again to those of you who have stepped up and helped our campaign in a variety of ways.  If you are looking for an opportunity to join our team, please feel free to sign up on our volunteer page by clicking here, or e-mail “Zach the intern” (he’s doing a great job) at zach@mikekehoeforsenate.com to see how you can help.  We need you to continue to work hard to help us communicate our message so we can secure the victory in the August primary.  We will continue to work hard to bring leadership, values and a common sense approach to the Missouri Senate.

The Kehoe Family Christmas, 2009

The Kehoe Family Christmas, 2009

Merry Christmas from the Kehoe Family!  Christmas is an exciting time around the Kehoe house and just as Santa and his sleigh came trough Central Missouri – so did the frigid temperatures. But first, our family beamed with joy as we attended Christmas Mass Service and watched our two youngest, Maggie & Claire sing in the choir - Maggie even sang a solo - Away in the Manger. They both did great!  But I know not everyone has been able to enjoy all that the season offers.  Some have lost jobs, or are unable to be with family and friends, or even worse, have lost someone they love.  It is for this reason, that Christmas can be a difficult time for some.  I am thankful that I have so many great memories to draw on and look forward to creating some new ones this year as well.  I enjoy taking some time during Christmas to reflect on Christ’s amazing and humble birth.  It is good to know that we have a God that took matters into His own hands and walks with us through whatever circumstances we face.  I also think it is important for all of us to acknowledge the men and women serving in the military who are not only sacrificing time with family, but are willing to pay the ultimate price so we can all enjoy the freedoms this great country has to offer.  Please keep all of them in your prayers.  Claudia and I would like to wish you and your families a blessed and Merry Christmas.signature2

Claudia and I with the kids. Time to pick up trash at the farm.

What a great time of the year it is right now.  Claudia and I started off the day at the Chamber of Commerce Prayer breakfast, which our company has been a sponsor of for over 12 years.  It’s a great event in that it gives us the opportunity to reflect on how much God has blessed us.  I wanted to take a minute to thank the hundreds of people we now have on board as volunteers who are putting in countless hours making sure our message is heard, and that we are listening to you – the voters.  I am thankful that my family is so supportive of me, because without them, this would be an impossible journey.  I am thankful for friends and neighbors who have encouraged me for years to get involved and make a difference.  There’s not a day that goes by without several people asking me “So how’s the campaign going?”  My answer is especially important as we celebrate the Holiday Season – “The Campaign’s going great – thanks to you”.  I wish you safe travels, and hope you and your family have a great Thanksgiving.  God Bless.

We have been at this for just 77 days, and all of the support and help of our donors and volunteers is incredible!  I am truly humbled by the support we are getting in all 5 of our counties: Callaway, Cole, Miller, Moniteau & Morgan.  Today, we are releasing our progress through the first 77 days, with a press release detailing the facts behind our campaign since July 16th.

Many of you still are asking how you can help – please check out the volunteer tab on this site and sign up.  Also, we have tons of requests for “yard signs” but it will be a while before those come out – in the meantime, Zach (our famous intern) would love to mail you some bumper stickers – drop him a note and he will get them right out to you.  Claudia and I thank all of our friends family and supporters, and want everyone to realize one thing:

 WE ARE JUST GETTING STARTED!

My friend Karen reminds me to "stay grounded"

My friend Karen reminds me to "stay grounded"

Both Claudia and I have been humbled by the comments of support we are getting from all over the 5 county area.  For years people have been telling me to run for office, and when we announced, I wondered if those same people would be around – well they are, and they are in full strength!  There’s lots of friends out and about who are joining Team Kehoe, and it’s a great sign of support.  I ran into my buddy Karen Dye the other day, and as you would expect, she reminded me what to do, how to do it, and to keep listening to people.  Karen and I have been friends for years – she is the radio professional, and I am the rookie.  But, it’s folks like Karen who keep me grounded, and remind me there is a need for people in State Government who want to do what is right for the folks they represent.  In other words, focus on what is right more than who is right.  I’m on my way to do just that, and you can help.  check out the site, do what you can, and for those of you who say every day to me “I’ll help in any way, just let me know what to do” please encourage your friends to check this site out, and sign up for Team Kehoe.  We had made lots of fun events in the last week again, and I’ll be updating you on those in the next few days.  Thanks for your support.

Cooking steaks for the Cattleman's Association dinner at the 2009 Missouri State Fair

Cooking steaks for the Cattleman's Association dinner at the 2009 Missouri State Fair

In the past few weeks, we have had a ton of activity, visits, help – you name it, we have done it.  Like a great trip to the Moniteau County Fair, the St. Thomas Picnic, attending the ribbon cutting for the new school at St. Joseph’s Cathedral, United Way meetings, cooking at the State Fair, Auto Dealer round table, the USS Missouri Ball, raking hay, dealing with the “clunker” payments, appearing on Pepper and Friends, the American Cancer Society BBQ, High School football, the Capitol Christian Festival, Holts Summit Volunteer Fire department new building  grand opening, Sacred Heart Picnic in Eldon, and the Cole County 4H buyers appreciation dinner in  Wardsville.  These are just a few of the things I have been invited to – they don’t include the home visits all across the 5 county area, and the calls and e-mails from great people who give me the fuel to run.  I am more excited than ever, and the comments from folks all over the area are consistent: Go Mike, Go!  This has truly been a humbling experience, and I love meeting all the great families who share the views that Claudia and I established as the reasons to seek this office.   We have a long way to go, and I need your support.  Please spread the word about what we can accomplish together – share the web site, sign up for Team Kehoe, and if you can, help us with a donation so we can spread the word and win the fight.  I can guarentee I have the energy and the desire to win.  Most of all, I appreciated the kind words and the offer to keep my family in your prayers.  We can all use them - Mike

I had a great evening in northeast Callaway county last night visiting with members of the Republican committee.  This BBQ is an annual event held at  the home of one of the members - it was great to hear about what these folks know is important to them.  I  enjoyed the opportunity to share some of my views.  The weather was great, the food was everywhere, and the conversations kept leading back to the problems government seems to cause when they interfere with the lives of others.  We covered everything from Gun Control to the EPA, noting that “someone with some common sense” needs to get involved with these agencies – hum, that sounded familiar.

More visits this weekend, and next week – as always, I’ll keep you “posted”.
